Today’s class is entitled “So Who is The Holy Spirit?” What is His role in the believer’s life? Is He a Person? If He is a Person what is His mission? Who does He always glorify? All these questions will be answered in today’s bible study. People of God just as Jesus walked, talked, and dined with his disciples we likewise are to walk, talk, and dine with the Holy Spirit.

Chapter 1. First and foremost, The Holy Spirit is the Third Person of The Holy Trinity of God.

The Holy Bible is clear that the one true God is triune. In the Bible The Father is called God (Jude 1:1) (John 20:17) (Acts 2:33) (Acts 3:13) (Acts 5:30) (Acts 7:32) (Romans 1:7) (Romans 15:6) (1 Corinthians 1:3) (1 Corinthians 8:6) (1 Corinthians 15:24) (2 Corinthians 1:2-3) (2 Corinthians 11:31) (Galatians 1:1, 3-4) (Ephesians 1:2-3, 17) (Ephesians 4:6) (Ephesians 5:20) (Ephesians 6:23) (Philippians 1:2) (Philippians 2:11) (Philippians 4:20) (Colossians 1:2-3) (Colossians 3:17) (2 Timothy 1:2) (Titus 1:4) (1 Peter 1:3) (2 Peter 1:17) (Revelation 1:6), in the Bible Jesus Christ is called God (John 1:1-3, John 1:14-18) (John 10:30) (John 20:28) (2 Peter 1:1) (Hebrews 1:2-3, 8), and in the Bible the Holy Spirit is called God (Acts 5:3-4) (1 Cor. 12:4-6, 1 Cor. 12:11, 1 Cor.12:18) (Hebrews 10:15-18). In the Bible The Holy Trinity of God is displayed and revealed in (Matthew 3:16-17) (Genesis 1:26). Also look at (Genesis 1:1-2), It shows us that the Spirit of God (The Holy Spirit) was present at creation. For it is written “The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” The Holy Spirit is not an it nor is He a force as some people try to label him, He (The Holy Spirit) is indeed a Person, He is The Third Person in the Holy Trinity of God. Read (Ephesians 4:30) (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) (John 16:7-8, 13-15) (Acts 1:4-5, 8) (Acts 2:4) (Romans 8:5, 26).

Ephesians 4:30

30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

1 Corinthians 6:19

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,

Chapter 2. What is the Holy Spirit’s job in the earth one may ask? What is He here to do? The Holy Spirit’s job is to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and of the coming judgment. He is always at work doing these very things. Look at the word of God below. Read (John 16:7-15).

John 16:7-11

7But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt[a] in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: 9in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; 10in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.

Chapter 3. The Person of the Holy Spirit always glorifies The Son of God (Jesus Christ). Read (John 16:13-15) (1 John 5:11-13) (Hebrews 1:2-13).

John 16:13-15

13But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. 15All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.

Chapter 4. The Holy Spirit is a gift from God given unto all genuine believer’s in Christ Jesus.

When you came to Christ your given a gift of God which is God’s promised Holy Spirit. The person of The Holy Spirit comes to live and dwell on the inside of you the believer forever. He has sealed all genuine believers in Christ unto the day of redemption. He will teach you and guide you into all truth. Read (Romans 8) (Acts 2:38) (Ephesians 1:12-14) (Ephesians 4:29-31) (1 Corinthians 6:11, 19) (John 14:15-26) (John 16:7-15). The Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit given unto you instantly by God once you truly believe in Christ Jesus his Son. Which is the Spirit of truth. you are instantly given the Holy Spirit once you truly believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God. This is your proof and assurance that you are forgiven of all your sins, and now are a child of the most high God.

Galatians 3:2

Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ.

Ephesians 1:13

And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.

1 Corinthians 6:11, 19 (NLT)

11Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 19Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself,

Ephesians 1:12-14 (KJV)

12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 4:29-31 (KJV)

29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Chapter 5. Remember people of God, It is The Holy Spirits job to save sinful men not ours.

You cannot save yourself much less save anyone else. All humans are sinners who need the Savior Jesus Christ. The people of the world need Christ, so give them just that. Give them, share with them (that is) Christ Jesus the Lord. Share with them the glorious gospel which is the death, burial, and bodily resurrection of Jesus. Remember we cannot save anyone; however, it is our job to be a useful available vessel for the Lord to work through. Why is that one may ask? This is because God himself has bought us with a high price and we are not our own. This means we do not belong to ourselves we belong to the Lord. God uses us (his children who believe in Christ) to share the gospel message, the Holy Spirit then does the convicting and saving. Read (Ephesians 2:4-10) (Titus 3:5) (Romans 3:23) (Job 4:17) (1 John 1:8-10) (Luke 1:47) (Luke 2:11) (Acts 5:31) (Acts 13:23) (John 3:16) (John 4:42) (Philippians 3:20) (1 Timothy 1:1) ( 1 Timothy 2:3) (2 Timothy 1:10) (Titus 1:3-4) (Titus 2:13) (Titus 3:4, 6) (2 Peter 1:1, 11) (2 Peter 3:18) (1 John 4:14) (Jude 1:25) (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) (Luke 24:45-47) (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) (Mark 16:15) (John 14:15-24) (John 16:7-15).

Chapter 6. The Person of the Holy Spirit Intercedes for us believers in harmony with God’s will on our behalf before God the Father. Read (Romans 8:26-27).

Yes, the Holy Spirit makes Intercession for all genuine believers in Christ. Look at the word of God below.

Romans 8:26-27

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

Chapter 7. The Holy Spirit gives gifts unto believers in Christ according to His sovereign will. Read (Romans 12:5-8) (1 Corinthians 12) (Acts 2:4) (Hebrews 2:3-5).

Hebrews 2:4

God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

Chapter 8. We are called and commissioned by God in the person of Jesus Christ to go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature and to every nation (Mark 16:15).” This is not an option people of God this is indeed a command of God. But be of good cheer The Holy Spirit gives you the believer boldness to speak the word of God. Read (Acts 4:29-31) (Acts 1:8).

Acts 4:31

After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.

Just as Jesus walked with his disciples when he was here physically on the earth over 2,000 years ago, we are to walk and commune with the Holy Spirit because He is now on the earth. And He (the Holy Spirit) is here to guide us and teach us (the believers in Christ) the Word of God just like Jesus guided and taught his disciples the Word of God. For it is written in the Holy Bible that He (The Holy Spirit) will guide us into all truth.” Again, I say unto you people of the world, He The Holy Spirit is the believers guide, Counselor, and Comforter Here on this earth.

Read (2 Corinthians 5:17) (John 3:14-18) (John 6:40, 47).

God's promised Holy Spirit given unto us proves that we are indeed the children of God because we now have His Spirit. For those who have the Holy Spirit are those who belong to God. For those who have God's Spirit dwelling inside them and those who are led by this Spirit of God are the children of God (Romans 8:14). And anyone who does not have the Spirit of God dwelling inside them does not belong to God and His Christ (Romans 8:9).

May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you all. Have a great and glorious day in the Lord.
